July results roundup

Welcome to our seventh ACP Results Roundup of 2023. As I look out of the window whilst compiling this roundup it is pouring with rain and blowing a gale which must mean only one thing – its school holidays! 

I’m guessing that the holiday season is impacting the running scene as there are fewer race results reported in this month but still plenty of great running to tell you about from our members, with Lakeland Trail Ultras (not for the faint hearted!), Eccup 10 and a very well supported Ilkley Half with some standout performances from our 15 ACP members running. 

The final race of the Harrogate League season – the Handicap Race – took place on the 20th and Debbie Bland bookended the month with a fine race up in Wensleydale – the James Herriot 14k Trail race. 

This month also featured the start of our new ACP parkrun Challenge – run over 16 weeks 15th July to 28th October, this has sparked a lot of interest and started the competitive spirit going on a Saturday morning. Lots of good feedback so far and still a long way to go before trophies are held aloft at our AGM ! 

This Roundup will endeavor to recapture the headlines from last month (July 2023) – as ever it is only as good as the info you send me so apologies if that extra special PB is missing!
