ACP parkrun Challenge – Week 16 : The End !
Doesn’t time fly when you are enjoying yourselves ! Doesn’t seem five minutes since we launched the Challenge back in July. I’ll publish the final positions and points tomorrow but here are the Headlines from Week 16s Finale.
16 Pacers took up the Challenge in the latest parkruns with 9 different parkrunsin play.
We had 1x Age Grading Winner ( Debbie Bland‘s 80.75 at Bowling Park)
Four Pacers won their Age GroupCarole Keighley, Margaret Britton , Fran Walker and Debbie Bland.
Two Pacers clocked PB’S (David Fox at Roundhay and Margaret Britton at Clitheroe castle.)
Two Pacers volunteered and we had two shiny new Challengers joining the fray ( Brenda Peake & Jenny Hiley at Lister Park)
Overall, Margaret Britton shaved another 10 points off Debbie’s lead with a terrific 20 point run at the tough Clitheroe Castle parkrun whilst Aron Fulton sneaked up past Andrew Humphries and Amy Llewellyn into 8th place. Meanwhile Karen Kempton did herself a power of good at Roberts Park picking up enough points to ghost past four Pacers and into 30th above Janice Chruscht.
So (drum roll 🥁!!) our overall winner of the 2023 ACP parkrun Challenge is Debbie Bland on 861.48 points from 16 events closely followed by Margaret Britton on 788.24 from 15 events. Carole Keighley mounted a valient challenge to bag third lady & fourth overall (588.17 from 14 events).
Representing the ACP Gentlemen Players and in overall third place after 16 weeks of trying to catch the elusive Margaret Britton is Mr Craig Hoos (640.74 from 14 events) followed by “Mr Consistency” Andy Gledhill (544.57 from 16). In third spot Owain Gwilym (525.17/11) held on to 6th place overall (3rd Male) fighting off a late challenge from David Fox (520.77 / 12) & Aron Fulton (442.83 / 14).
I hope that you have all enjoyed the last 16 weeks Comp – overall 45 Pacers have had a crack at it and the feedback has been generally positive. All Feedback would be welcome and especially if you fancy doing it all again in the New Year plus any tweaks you would like me to make to the format ( other than tieing Debbies shoe laces together !).
Prizes will be awarded at our AGM on Dec 1st 🏆🥇🥈🥉🥳🥂
